This vehicle was purchased in late 2005 and has been driven by two mature adults only. It has never been taken off road. We are the second owner. The first owner was a home health care provider company, who kept the car well-maintained and the health care worker was the only person to ride in the vehicle. They put alot of miles on this vehicle, there are 263,000 miles on it now.
There were 209,000 miles on it when we bought it in 2005, all put on by one white collar woman, with no passengers. Other than the driver's seat, this vehicle looked brand new with 209,000 miles on it. Other than the transmission being replaced, we have had no major problems with this vehicle, never an engine problem, it has never over-heated, and we find it to be very reliable. We bought it with high mileage four years ago, because we could see it had been well-maintained and would be reliable. We have not been disappointed. We have taken this vehicle to far northern Canada three times, once in mid-winter, all over the east coast and midwest on numerous occassions, and never once worried about being left on the road.
On average, it gets 19mpg. To our knowledge, this vehicle has never been in an accident. We have seen no evidence of body repair, and we have never been in an accident with it. It has good heat, cold air, factory am/fm cd player in good working condition, all lights working, all electric windows working, headliner, dash, door panels are all excellent, two keys and remote control is included. Also includes owner manual and repair records, which are thankfully not much. Regular maintenance plays a big part in longevity of a vehicle and is one reason this vehicle looks so fine with original paint and interior.
We replaced the transmission in this vehicle in early 2007. Last year, we replaced the air conditioning unit with a used unit from a vehicle with alot less mileage. It works great. We have also replaced the alternator, the battery and the brakes in fall 2008.
Noted Problems:
- The gas pedal is a bit sticky, could use an adjustment.
- The vehicle could use new tires.
- Valve cover gasket? is leaking a bit of oil onto engine, should be replaced
- Since the day we have owned the vehicle, the 'check engine' light has been on. The last tune-up was done on the vehicle late in 2008.
- Since the last brake job a few months ago, the anti-lock brake light has also been on steady. Brakes work fine.
- Driver's seat bottom has cracks and wear
- Few tiny chips in hood paint along front edge from roadwear
